Get to know our newest member of the Instinct Flow team, Charlotte Nichols! Charlotte’s Pilates sessions Control and Sculpt will begin from the 12th September, come along and give one a try!

My name is Charlotte, I am a certified Pilates instructor, fitness enthusiast, and a self-confessed globe trotter (or want to be).

I grew up in Tarporley and in 2021 moved back here with my boyfriend after 10 years of living away.

I love practising pilates and I’m very excited to start teaching the lovely members at Instinct – bringing my own style to the Flow classes.

My classes combine mat and small equipment sequences to boost confidence, develop strength, improve posture, flexibility, stability and overall health.

A little about me…

I have 2 older brothers, 2 sisters in law, 2 beautiful nieces and 1 gorgeous Australian nephew!

One of my brothers lives in Australia with his wife and son who I love to go and visit as much as possible!

My friends and family mean the absolute world to me.

I love to cook (& eat!!) – I’m actually taking a nutrition course right now!

I live for my holidays – I want to explore the world!

Why did you decide to become a Pilates Instructor?

I have always loved staying fit and going to the gym but it was lockdown 2020 where my journey with Pilates really began.

During lockdown I fell in love with taking part in Pilates zoom classes and finding different videos on YouTube. It really kept me fit, happy and sane during that period of life.

As soon as the gyms opened again, I was straight into the Pilates studio!

2020 really gave me time to sit and reflect on my career, understanding what made me happy, what my strengths were, and what I wanted to pursue.

Pilates became my happy place and I realised I wanted to help others the way pilates helped me. So, I took the plunge and enrolled on a mat pilates instructing course, and I’m so happy I did!

What is your favourite exercise?

I love developing my core strength – focusing on your core will help improve technique, strength, and stamina. It all starts with a strong core.

I also love walking – don’t underestimate it!

What is your least favourite exercise?

Definitely burpees!

What motivates you?

I love the feeling I get after exercise – I feel energised, happier and ready to take on the day. I want everyone to walk away from my classes with the same feeling.

What is your quote to live by?

“If you do what you love you’ll never work a day in your life”

What is your favourite treat?

I live for my holidays, bit of a sun worshipper!

But in the country, I enjoy a glass of wine with the girls or a movie at home with my boyfriend.

Try one of Charlotte’s new pilates classes at Instinct…

/ Pilates Control

Mondays 9AM – 45mins

Develop strength, improve posture, flexibility, stability and overall health, achieving some release / relaxation from day-to-day life. In Control we slow it down, targeting small muscle groups and lengthening each muscle with slow and controlled movements. Classes will be layered to cater for mixed ability – whether you want to challenge yourself or wind down this class is for everybody.

/ Pilates Sculpt

Wednesdays 7PM – 45 mins

In sculpt our main focus is form and precision; building a stronger mind to body connection, using our breath to help guide us through the movement to not only strengthen but lengthen the muscles in the body. Get ready for a full body burn, incorporating small equipment for extra intensity to really sculpt and tone the body.
