Lycra gear gathering dust in a cupboard?  That lockdown road bike festering in a corner of the garage? Fancy a cycling challenge?  How about joining the first Instinct Gym and Wellbeing Big Ride for charity!

Inspired by member Gareth Lyon’s mammoth round Britain cycling challenge The Instinct Team are planning to ride from Gym in Tarporley to Llandudno in aid of North West Cancer Research charity on the 24th of September.

We would love as many of you, our fantastic Instinct family, to join them on the day to create some great memories and, more importantly, raise money for one of the charities close to our hearts.  We know that many of you also enjoy cycling for leisure and so we wanted to ask you to join us if you would like to.

/The Big Ride

We plan to ride from Instinct in Tarporley to Llandudno and will be offering either a short or long ride:

56 miles – Instinct to Lladudno. Returning by train from Llandudno to Chester.

OR

112 miles – Instinct – Llandudno – Instinct.  Returning by bike after refuelling in Llandudno (Fish and Chips, Ice Cream).

Both options will be non-drop (pace is set by slowest riders) and will be endurance pace (10 – 12 mph) which means anyone can take part!

/Training Rides

None of us will do this without some preparation so we have planned some training rides to get us in the best shape possible.  These rides will be starting and finishing at Instinct and will be taking place on a Sunday morning on the following dates:

  • 31st July
  • 14/21August (tbc depending on staff availability)
  • 4th September

Even if you can’t make the big ride, please join us on the training rides (there may be cake and coffee stops).
