Introducing Gregor, the newest member of the Instinct team – Starting in October, Gregor is a master of the slopes, and winters as a Ski instructor. Bringing a fresh and wholesome outlook on life and fitness, we are so excited to have Gregor on board.

I was brought up in the highlands of Scotland which proved to be a rich playground for me, climbing, swimming in the rivers and lochs, mountain biking and skiing – my number one sporting passion, when there was snow I went skiing. My love of outdoor action sports has grown over the years to incorporate many other sports and has formed the cornerstone of my life and career.

I have been a full time ski instructor for most of my working life and have taught all over the world. Currently in the winters I live in Tignes, in France.
When not working or training I love to hang out with my friends – spending time in the company of those you love is the truest pleasure.

Why did you decide to become a PT?

In order to maximise my enjoyment of the sports I do, and life in general, I appreciate the importance of health and fitness. During my journey I have had to train hard to achieve certain goals, recover from injuries and progress. I was helped throughout by coaches and trainers who were very inspirational – this gave me a desire to help others along their pathway and to reach their full potential.

What do you love about your job?

My greatest love in being a coach is helping others move along their pathway, giving them the support and assistance to help them progress.

What is your favourite exercise?

I don’t really like to play favourites, everything has its place and purpose depending on what you want to achieve and to stay in balance, but it’s hard for me to look past squats and deads and the variants of them – they offer a lot of bang for your buck, working a lot of muscle groups at once.

What is your least favourite exercise?

Although one needs rounded fitness, as a skier I have spent a lot of time focusing on my legs when training so when its time to train “the guns” my heart sinks a little.

What motivates you?

The belief that you can always improve and become a better version of yourself regardless of what field you are looking at.

Quote to live by…

I will have to give you 2:

“Many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view” – Obi-Wan Kenobi

“Perfection is a fool’s journey, self-awareness, positive energy and progress are a truer road to happiness – Me

What is your favourite treat?

I don’t really believe in the whole treat or good / bad idea when it comes to food or life. If you want to do something or eat something then do it or don’t do it but with an understanding of what that action means. That said, fling a bag of jelly sweets my way and I’m sure to smile.
